Hello everyone,

I'm glad to inform you that the 10° POPS World Meet
will be held in Verona, Boscomantico airport, Italy, from
Friday 18 to Saturday 26 June 2010.
As soon as the event web site is on line I will inform you.

Great news for S.O.S. The first SOS 4 way RW National
competition will be held in 2010 POPS Meet.

Ciao a tutti.

Lamberto

Thanks for the early update. My wife and I are making plans for 2010 we will include this POPs event. I need to find 3 other SOS jumpers who will be going so we can practice our 4 way. Or will the event be a scrambles?

Good question from Mike B re the SOS national teams ie. are they scrambles?
The POPS National 4 way Teams event at the 2008 meet in Australia was not a scrambles, and I don't believe previous such events at Arizona, Switzerland or in New Zealand, where national teams competition events were first held, were either, nor were they meant to be.
Following the Arizona world meet in 2006 there was some debate via email about the validity of such a concept at POPS meets. Nonetheless it seems the idea of national teams, in addition to scrambles, is here to stay for POPS and extending it to include SOS is a logical progression.
How individual countries go about selecting their teams [there has been a maximum of 2 teams per country for POPS national teams at previous world meets] is for their Top POP to determine.
So, are we having up to 2 SOS National Teams as well as up to 2 POPS National Teams at the 2010 world meet?

Dear Mike and Robbo,

The 2010 SOS 4 way competition won't be scramble, but national teams.
In the 4 way National event each nation can enter a maximum of two teams "Over 40" and two teams "Over 60".

In the coming soon event website you'll find the list of competitions and competition rules. Sorry for my late reply, I've got a flu...

Ciao,
Lamberto

Thanks Lamberto, no worries, there's plenty of time for the website. Hope you get well soon. Cheers Robbo.
