History of the Spirit of POPS Award

This program was established by George Rabe, POPS 1563, in 1984. The recipient #1 was Tom Morrison, POPS 96. The Spirit of POPS Award is presented each year at the POPS Nationals. Recipients are selected from nominations of POPS/SOS/JOS/JOES/JON members that you feel deserve recognition. The nominees should have displayed the Spirit of POPS in some special way above and beyond regular POPS activities; i.e. organized local/national POPS events, conducted seminars, obtained POPS publicity, achieved a recognizable objective, promoted POPS in some notable way, etc. Your nomination, including a description of why the nomination is being made, should be forwarded no less than 30 days prior to the POPS Nationals to: Len Zak, POPS Awards Coordinator, 4808 Maricopa Street, Torrance, CA 90503-2318. skyzzakaol.com
